We are pleased to announce the forthcoming publication, with the ESRI, of research on persistent poverty in Ireland (defined as those at-risk-of-poverty over a 4 year period).  This is the first longitudinal research on poverty using the CSO Survey of Income and Living Conditions (SILC).  Further details about the research seminar are available here.

The findings will be presented by Bertrand Maître, of the ESRI, at a seminar:

on:       Thursday 24th November 2011

at:        4 p.m.

in:         the ESRI, Whitaker Square, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2.  Directions to the ESRI are here.

All are welcome to attend this event and no booking is necessary.

The research paper on persistent poverty is jointly published by the Department of Social Protection and the ESRI and will be available on our publications pages here and here after the seminar. The report and the seminar are outputs from the Department of Social Protection/ESRI research programme on monitoring poverty trends under the National Action Plan for Social Inclusion 2007 – 2016.
