Report of Social Inclusion Forum 2013

‘Implementing the Social Dimension of Europe 2020’

Executive Summary: SIF was established by the Government as part of the structures to monitor and evaluate Ireland’s National Action Plan for Social Inclusion 2007- 2016 (NAPinclusion). The Department of Social Protection has been given the responsibility by the Government to convene the Social Inclusion Forum. The SIF is a key element of the government’s commitment to consult with all relevant stakeholders, including people experiencing poverty and the groups that represent them in the fight against poverty and social exclusion. The Forum provides an opportunity for engagement between officials from government departments, community and voluntary organisations and people experiencing poverty in relation to the NAPinclusion. The 2013 Forum was organised with the assistance of the Community Workers’ Co-operative (CWC) and the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland.
